  1. garland:

    The dicitonary defines it as, but blah as it applies here, part of the language and a staple method of strands.

  2. profile:

    the backstory or inspiration behind the piece. an expansion on the name, materials, and choices made.

  3. curio
    \ kūr ‘ i - o \ : 1. an interesting object which invokes curiosity 2. something unusual or rare, perhaps worthy of collecting

    I use this term in relation to the Curio Deck, the reference cards that tell the stories of the pieces of strands. The cards represent a culmination of the common language, archetypes and concepts behind the collection. The deck is a tool that invites viewers into the narrative of strands — a record of the inspirations and visuals that inform the work. The hope is that it deepens the relationship between the piece and the wearer.
