Maison Smith
806 Old Santa Fe Trail . Santa Fe, NM 87505 . 505.467.8054 . Mon - Sat, 10:30-5 . maisonsmith.us
This “Modern Mercantile” at the intersection of Old Pecos + Old Santa Fe Trail is a “space of convergence.” The freshly renovated historic home, which houses their retail displays and interior design offices, gives you a sense of the extent of their knowledge, offerings and exquisite taste. “We want all the senses to be sparked—visual, tactile, smell, sound, light, and mood,” says owner Megan Smith. Tonia Prestupa runs the interior design studio, and specializes not only in textiles and finishing details (via fashion design), but also spent many years studying the Japanese tea ceremony. This informs an awareness that beauty comes “not only through objects themselves but also in their essence and placement. This instills a sense of tranquility in its purest form.”
